New here - questions on adding ensuite bathroom

When we built our home/unknowingly future B&B, we gave each of the four bedrooms their own bathrooms, with the sorta exception of the one bathroom that has both a door to its bedroom and a door to the hall. It can easily turn into a suite or be used as a common bathroom. Make sense? It worked...

    Your crowning success stories

Almost two years ago we got a referral from another b&b who couldn't accommodate a two-night stay for four people. So far these same two couples have stayed with us 9 times (two-nights each time) and have another 7 two-night stays booked this coming year. For these visits they want all three of...

    Last Minute Bookings

We do not take same-day bookings either but then we don't use a reservation service which would make a difference to me, I'm sure. I have my day already planned, just as the same-day wanna-be guest should! That's why we don't have a sign on the property announcing we are a b&b. We have a sign...

    Gluten: The Truth

Our gluten-free people this past weekend weren't even self-diagnosed. SHE just thought it a healthier way to eat. So for two days we all had breakfast her way. Luckily, the other guests went along, probably because I had put some thought into it to make it good. BUT next time I'm taking your...

What would Guests Put in the Bookcase Headboard?

We had a guest with an app on their phone for the fan sound. Could even pick the noise they desired. I guess the saying 'there's an app for that' is true!

What would Guests Put in the Bookcase Headboard?

We're in the country so we have binoculars in every room. And coasters for their drinks.

    What's new for 2015?

I see I'll be spending the weekend looking through Michael's blog! And his Pinterest! Great stuff there. Thanks for turning me on to him, Joey. And looking through everyone's blogs. I didn't even know that was there, Morticia. Thanks.

    What's new for 2015?

I know you're right yet I resist. I have/had a blog: http://thetexaswoman.blogspot.com/. Haven't worked it in a couple of years and followers have fallen off. It sort of turned into a cancer blog and although cancer victims told me it was inspiring and helpful, it got to be depressing to me, a...

    What's new for 2015?

Last year in mid-August we had a rare leucistic (partially albino) hummingbird show up at the beginning of their migration. A couple of pictures of it are at http://beautyofbirds.com/albinohummingbirdstexas.html. We're hoping she shows up again. We get upwards to 200 hummingbirds at a time in...

    What's new for 2015?

Enter the wedding market. Change out the double bed suite upstairs to a king bed suite. Add weekday hummingbird specials when the migration hits in August and September. Build a pier on the pond. Now to inform Mac about the last one! LOL!

    article about business cards

Cool cards in that article! Since we're Country Star, we have a cutout star in our cards which usually brings the response, "Can I have another one? This one has a hole in it."

    Gluten: The Truth

Having gluten free guests this weekend. Not doing separate breakfasts. If it's good for the gluten freers, it'll be good for everyone!!! No one mentioned not using griddle etc which had touched gluten so I'm blindly heading into the weekend pretending I've never heard that point. Tried the King...

    Dinner (supper) is served!

Our B&B insurance does not allow anything but breakfast. It adds that we "ARE NOT a restaurant". It also states we can serve breakfast to guests only. Plus I don't want to open myself up to health inspections...not that we're doing anything wrong but things can get pretty wild around here when...

    Valentine's Day Minimum

We're a university town. Our only two-night minimums are football games (6 to 7 times a year), graduations (3 times a year), and family/parents weekends (twice a year). After a busy football season one night stays seem like our vacation! We do enjoy that season though, even when weather is bad...

    Bloody Glitter

Had a bloody pillow case once. Why don't people tell us this stuff? They could even rinse it out for me and it wouldn't hurt my feelings!

    One more breakfast this season

What a lovely venue you have! Hubby is looking at them now and can't stop oohing and aahing - and he doesn't do that often! Thank you for sharing the photos and information with me. It is a big help.

    One more breakfast this season

Mac and I rewarded ourselves with an RV trip this week. Texas weather wasn't perfect but the friends and electric blanket were! This coming week and weekend are booked but then it's on to our upcoming project - lighting the pavilion for weddings. Have our first one booked August 15. Would love...

    Ironing the linens

I'm the original poster and I'm not a spammer. I was just curious. My web site is http://countrystarbedandbreakfast.com/ if anyone is interested. Plus we're on FB.

    Ironing the linens

We don't make beds during stays either. I empty trash, remove and replace towels, and make sure each room still has bottled water. If the inside room door is locked, they get none of those services, even though I can always gain access through the room's exterior door.
