Ouch! I had that this summer, too. The pain! What I have now is skin cancer. Not the severe kind. Had it all removed.Best of luck. I have plantar fasciitis and they told me the micro tears wouldn't heal unless I could rest and stay off my feet. Well tell that to an innkeeper in the summer heading into foliage while also building a new house that you and hubby are finishing yourselves. Micro tears aren't getting any better and I ordered a boot from Amazon to sleep with at night because there is no way in hell that I can stay off my feet. Maybe in March or April..

I also developed plantar fasciaitis. Horrible pain for a couple of years. I tried a lot of different things including $500 shoe inserts. What changed my life was wearing Dansko clogs! I had several guests who were nurses tell me about Danskos. I've now been pain free for a few years. No flat shoes, no sandals. I was told to not even go into the bathroom from the bedroom without wearing them.MtnKeeper said:Best of luck. I felt your pain....being an innkeeper is what caused it for me. As we say on here, "innkeeping is not for wimps". Oh boy, howdy!

what I find works for me is Sketchers - (derotated shins, displaced kneecaps and flat feet) plus come in a range of colours so can be a bit smarter than trainers.Ouch! I had that this summer, too. I did find that changing out my shoes helped the pain in my foot go down a lot. No sandals. No thin soles. I had to wear thick soles and socks all summer. I got running socks with really thick cushioning.

Thanks Breakfast Diva - I tried the Dansko a few years back and because of the arch in my foot within 2 weeks I developed a clicking in my knee that then took a few months to go away. So weird because the Dansko are so highly recommended by the company said obviously we are all different - just like as innkeepers. So I went back to good sneakers. But I'm thinking of trying the Vionic shoes as someone else recommended those. What I really need is a couple months off but again, that's not until April!Best of luck. Yes, the clogs put your whole body at a different angle and I noticed the difference in my knees also. Fortunately, no long term impact for me. Thanks for the Vionic recommendations, I might give those a try also. Looks like they are a little more stylish. Fortunately, I haven't had a major flare up in a couple of years, so I can experiment with some style. I hope the overnight foot brace helps! Thanks Breakfast Diva - I tried the Dansko a few years back and because of the arch in my foot within 2 weeks I developed a clicking in my knee that then took a few months to go away. I was already doing the stretches as I pulled something in my back in Feb. That went away but then I had a pain in my thigh. Which apparently moved to my heel by summer. (I know when I did it - running in hiking boots to catch my boat - wham! I felt it right away.)I had it this summer too. Did four things and have no more symptoms.
1. the boot at night.
2. iced the heal every chance I got.
3. shoe inserts and soft soled sneakers. (not the very expensive ones, got them at the drug store.)
4. slow stretches every morning and I watch how I rest my feet so that I keep the tendon stretched.
