Sounds awful. Hope you are healing quickly. It's tough to have to slow down to get well. Especially in our business.I was already doing the stretches as I pulled something in my back in Feb. That went away but then I had a pain in my thigh. Which apparently moved to my heel by summer. (I know when I did it - running in hiking boots to catch my boat - wham! I felt it right away.)I had it this summer too. Gave up flip flops forever.what I find works for me is Sketchers - (derotated shins, displaced kneecaps and flat feet) plus come in a range of colours so can be a bit smarter than trainers.Ouch! I had that this summer, too. The pain! What I have now is skin cancer. Not the severe kind. Had it all removed.Best of luck. I have plantar fasciitis and they told me the micro tears wouldn't heal unless I could rest and stay off my feet. Well tell that to an innkeeper in the summer heading into foliage while also building a new house that you and hubby are finishing yourselves. Micro tears aren't getting any better and I ordered a boot from Amazon to sleep with at night because there is no way in hell that I can stay off my feet. Maybe in March or April..
I did find that changing out my shoes helped the pain in my foot go down a lot. No sandals. No thin soles. I had to wear thick soles and socks all summer. I got running socks with really thick cushioning.

.
Did four things and have no more symptoms.
1. the boot at night.
2. iced the heal every chance I got.
3. shoe inserts and soft soled sneakers. (not the very expensive ones, got them at the drug store.)
4. slow stretches every morning and I watch how I rest my feet so that I keep the tendon stretched.

This has not been the best year ever.

It will look much better once the stitches are out. I looked like Frankenstein for a week or so this winter when I had a similar procedure on my face. Thank goodness time heals all wounds!Took the bandages off today. Ug-ly..
I had something similar when I was 12. The scar is still amazingly visible and was striking when I was a teen.It will look much better once the stitches are out. I did the masseuse thing once. I hurt for days after and decided I'd stick with the stretching and different shoes. Glad it worked for you!Had the old P F years back because I had pretty much spent my entire adult life in occupations that required standing all the time, six of those years in high heels! I found a podiatrist that used ultra sound and a masseuse that pretty much put me in the most excruciating pain I'd ever experienced in my life. Including childbirth.
After a few treatments, you wouldn't believe the relief I started to feel. That was about six years ago and I am pain free even though I still spend most of my waking hours on my feet. Still need to wear good footwear but all is good now..
Ugh...I guess all skin heals differently. Hopefully only a few special people will get to see your scar. Treat yourself to a few new pieces of clothing to cover up the remains. Good excuse to hit all those shops near you after the holidays.I had something similar when I was 12. I hope you're feeling better..
Thanks! I hiked 4 miles on Christmas and today I dispensed with all the bandages. I look like Frankenstein's monster but I can cover up pretty well. Stitches come out next week.ChrisandShelley said:I hope you're feeling better.

This Dr is big on Vaseline. In another 4 weeks I am supposed to start massaging the scars to get the collagen to do its job. Hope that works better than the last surgery. That was 50 years ago and the scar is still quite obvious.Flower said:Have you tried putting straight Vit. E cream on your scare. I did and it healed quickly and left my scare nicely. I have one from when I was a child, climbed up on the table to play with the chandelier and got one of the crystals in the arm. (Or so says my mother... she could have done it herself with a knife for all I remember of the incident.)Have you tried putting straight Vit. E cream on your scare. (I keep thinking it's weird I have a scar that's 50 years old!)

One-upmanship Alert - I have one on each side of my left wrist from 2 separate "educational" sessions from my Mother on the same subject (both over 60 years old). It was my turn to go over the hill to Granny's to get milk and I did not want to. She gave me an education as to why I should and as I walked down the hill, walked into a metal clothes prop breaking the empty bottles I was carrying. One is fairly long and the other was deep which is why there were stitches instead of "butterflies". You are a young whippersnapper.Have you tried putting straight Vit. E cream on your scare.
