Yes, it twas JB and BD!
We shared a cuppa and a nice meal and was a wonderful meet up. She is lovely, and it was a real treat to meet them both in person. I am waiting for shuttle to airport to fly back to USA today. Put Iceland on your bucket list, but plan ahead as they said the entire island is booked solid into the fall.
I hope you too can meet an innmate or two this year. It is awesome.

A 10,000 year old glacier we hiked to. One of the many amazing thngs to see and do in the land of fire and ice.
Hint: Icelandair allows stopovers for free, so everyone enjoys this wonderful place enroute to or from Europe for a few days. Now THAT'S great marketing!

That fits in with what "they" keep telling us, that people these days don't just want to see things. They want to DO things. Activities. And Iceland offers lots to do. BD's DH even rode the horses there. I'm sure BD would have been like Dale Evans if her arm hadn't been in a sling.

Icelandic horses - 150,000 of them now. Orig brought here by the Vikings. Very gentle, these were wild we stopped to see and they came over ot see us, all on very large farms since there is no grass there. No trees native other than Birch in the whole country. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icelandic_horse

This is the farm in many of the photos and video of the 2010 eruptions of Eyjafjallajökull https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_eruptions_of_Eyjafjallaj%C3%B6kull
Plus glaciers (largest in Europe), waterfalls (most powerful largest in Europe) and plenty more...
Cleanest place ever, never saw a police car, highly educated, hard working Icelanders with a superior quality of life. 320,000 people total.
Iceland is a place to visit, in any season. Incredible dining, sightseeing, outdoor recreation. Wonderful all around.

What a wonderful experience. I have hopes of getting to Finland some day. And to attend a BedPosts Conference in the UK in person instead of via Internet.
My Germany trip was wonderful. I am so happy for those of you who are world travelers.
