I certainly empathize with you.Right there with you. For me, it's the four foot wide front door that faces south and carries with it the 92 degree air with 75% humidity that people leave open "just for a second" while they run back to their car. I am constantly on edge, listening and watching for people (that have already checked it) because I know they think that simple request doesn't apply to them. Or they stand there talking to each other with the door open because they were on their way out and something caught their eye (a brochure, a picture, etc) and they have to have a discussion about it before they go. Shut the effing door!!!!! I am looking at a $892 electric bill this month - but what do they care? They paid for it, right?
While their guest room upstairs stays frigid because it's cooled with the central air AND window units, the innkeeper is having hot flashes and about to pass out because they don't think a 2 minute run to the car can make any difference. Sorry, but yes it can and does!.
I not only have a problem with the guests and the AC, but also a helper who has OCD and keeps putting the AC off! It's 88 degrees inside now and he's complaining it's cold! I told him to put a sweater on and dont know how much longer I can tolerate this. He has OCD and
keeps removing everything to clean it, has moved my personal stuff around so that I cant find anything (even tho I told him not to), and now I cant find the plate cover for the microwave. He never apologizes either. Feels entitled I guess even tho he has free board and lodging!!!
Any suggestions? He is good with the B&Bs but jaws their head off, especially at breakfast.
I have given him chores to do but he does what he feels like and ignores the rest. Should I give him the boot? He just left me for 2 days to go off and see a friend and I got 5 minutes notice of this.
I was planning to take a 5 day break in mid August and he is
supposed to look after my cat and the B&Bs. A friend suggested I block the rooms for when I'm away so I dont have to worry about it. What do all of you wise people suggest?
Waiting on you.
