Local TV, Cable, Netflix, Hulu, Prime - Which one?

What TV channels do you offer your guests?
Thinking of ditching cable and just getting a Roku stick into the back of the TV's
Any thoughts?

We just installed TV's last year. Guests have basic satellite channels. Local + basic expanded networks. Many bring gaming systems with them or their own Netflix accounts.

Basic cable. Most TVs have dvd built in, but we have never set up a movie library.

I have basic cable PLUS - gets the sports channels, local, and a lot more. I have no idea what all it gets as I do not watch TV. Himself is the one who knew what was on when and what channel.

Netflix (accessed by your own subscription information), Youtube, Crackle and Hulu.
That was it. No cable. Being a YouTube BBC documentary fan, I was more than happy. New room, millenial decor. $150/night. Breakfast not included. Onsite bistro serving meals at additional cost.

I asked a similiar questions a few months ago and someone (Im sorry I've forgotten the names) suggested Roku and they couldn't have been any better! I've loaded it with a netflix account, some news apps like al jazeera, euronews, france 24 and reuters for news and film on for some live channels and had our first few guests who happened to use it and liked it very much. Im sure you would get more channels on it as it is a bit restricted here unfortunately.

We left the cable world about 1 1/2 yrs ago. Bought antennas for local TV channels, which we get about 30, and purchased Roku systems for all the TVs and subscribe to Netflix. This satisfies most of our guests.

We are located in a rural area about 35 miles from most of the local networks. At times the local channels will have tiling and freezing, especially during bad weather.

Netflix works very well. Two things to check on 1) make sure your provider has high speed internet (ours is up to 60 mbps) and that you have a high end router.

I also recommend setting up your Roku with apps of all the major cable networks so guests can log in to their own carrier using their own ID/Pwd and stream.

We did the ROKU Route and its worked out great. A lot simpler, cheaper, and quite an interesting array of options. Some of our older guests need walking through but the remote is way simpler than a cable remote and we've made sure they can access a fox sports channel, etc.
Haven't heard any complaints. Yet.
