Hello from US east coast, Plattsburgh, NY?

Hello! I'm currently in the DC area, looking for historic properties to start a B&B. I'm interested in Plattsburgh, NY, but also open to pretty much anywhere. My priorities are 1. a stunning historic home, 2. natural beauty nearby.

Some other areas I've perused are Rochester, MN, Taos area, Carolinas.

I am on my own, so I would love to do a work/visit to any of your properties, to learn from you! I have extensive renovation skills, and my passions are historic preservation and service (brightening people's day).

I wonder about Charlottesville VA for the historic sites around it.
That could be a decent place for old beautiful houses and site seeing and college graduations an events.
