Skunks under our house several years ago. We were doing a whole house weekend rental the following week.
Neighbor girl: "Daddy, why is the neighbor man shooting those poor skunks?" (They had been eating cat food left out - not by us!)
"Well daughter: because otherwise their only natural enemies are 18-wheelers!"
.
In our old house, we left the cat door available most of the time. I came around the corner into the kitchen after watching a delightful movie in the other room to find a raccoon eating our cat food IN THE KITCHEN!
When I screamed, it ran outside (thank goodness!!!! It could have freaked and run further into the house.)
I wondered how many other times the raccoon neighbor had helped himself when we didn't discover it!

We have been adopted by too many. But when we caught glimpses of a coyote in our backyard. I looked it up on the internet and found that it has a name! (He even looked both ways before crossing the street! ) He comes through on his morning jog….. And I live in a city, folks!!!!!!!!

We had a "porch cat" that we inherited when some neighbors moved. Not good animal people. She was a vaccinated domestic feline and all of that, not feral.
She was used to being outside, but I also had a setup for her by our private entrance for the colder weather. (I live in the Deep South.) She'd try to sneak in our door, but not the front door used by the guests! For the most part she was content to hang out on the porch.
I did have a blurb online about her and in the guest book about not letting her in & also mentioned it at check-in tour. Since we live in a downtown area, I also told folks about feral cats that might be around. No cats allowed in the house!!
