Homemade doughnuts - anyone tried tem?

Over the weekend, I made two batches. One with butter pecan cake mix. Came out really good. The bad news? Butter pecan cake mix has been discontinued.
I then tried strawberry cake mix with mashed bananas. Not as good. Way too sweet. Pretty! but sweet.
I'm getting good with the pastry pouch!
