Listen to Generic. You could also ask a friendly B&B near by. I've been to your beautiful town! Always wanted to go ice skating there but it didn't happen.
.
It's the warmest city in Canada. It's where we manufacture hot air. Just like in Washington, DC.
.
But the canal still freezes over?!? One of these years I will be up to do it…. I got a cedar box with a picture of people skating on it back at my parents' place.
.
Stay here...:)
.
Wow! I'm a step closer with a place to stay. I just need time off, more money, and renew my passport! (I let it expire, shame on me!)
.
Just renewed ours. Nice new picture... but that means I will need a new Brazilian visa.

Now when I lived in Ontario, any place that served prepared food had to display an inspection permit in plain view. Here in Newfoundland, I also have to display my permit in my dining room plus go through a yearly inspection. ??????????? Nothing like that for you stevewitharoom? Doesn't sound right..
I know 2cat, odd to say the least. But I have really tried to be 'permitted' (not the right word me thinks) and the lady at the Public Health Ottawa government place was adament it was the case, I even argued with her! So I trook her name just in case.

in the UK its a 20 min online certificate which is basically keep stuff in the fridge, don't reheat stuff and don't rub raw meat on stuff - if you can't pass you should Not be serving food to anyone even yourself! You also have to be inspected by the local council but that's basically a friendly chat - ours are super nice and helpfull best department in the council!.
Aaah, UK B&B's. What council do you come under Jcam? Is it a London one?
.
Nope Harrogate in North Yorkshire (near Scotland) rather than Harrow in London - Mind you int the Uk if you serve food irregularly (ie now and again) you don't have to be inspected at all - this to me is the wrong way around as if you do it full time you should be practiced and competent - irregularly you forget in between.
.
Ah Harrogate, I lived in Hackney some years ago, no B&B's in Hackney, well there weren't any while I was there, the Cray twins were though, they had a few pubs, may have even had 'guests'. Hadn't though of that.
Yes the food rules are very strange, everywhere it seems.

Got mine in 2010. When should I renew as I do not want to let it expire - 2019? Before? I never had one before.
It came in handy last October when I renewed my Driver's License. Instead of having to show birth certificate, marriage certificate, divorce papers, and new marriage certificate (all that when I was born in Ohio - I know, it IS foreign country to a West Virginian but it was the closest hospital), I just took my passport and all was well.

Our restrictions depend on how many rooms we rent. We are permitted to serve hot food if we pass the food safety exam. We are not permitted to serve food to anyone not renting a room.

Where are you Beachhouse? Our restriction is on number of guests, 16 I believe. Also not permitted to serve food to non-guests. Maybe non guests are more susceptible to food poisoning? Or there's a positive aura of bacterial cleanliness within B&B's in Ottawa, but only for people who have used beds in the same property? Who knows....

Been to Worcester and Springfield on the way to Boston a couple of years ago. Lovely countryside.
I always seem to think of the Bee Gees when anyone mentions Massachusetts.

And it's called 'the beach house'? Are you not allowed to say where your B&B is on here then? Except vaguely, like the state or province or town?

Hey Beachhouse, I can edit some of my own posts, but not others. Doesn't seem to be a logic running through this but I'm sure there is one.

Once someone has responded to your post, you can't edit it. So you flag it and ask Swirt to do it for you. If you want to only have it up for awhile, you ask people not to respond to it directly. Glad to see that you are making yourself at home here!

Yes Duff, this is home, home is where you lay your head, home is like a lost ***** cat, found in the nestles of of the basement under some old chair grandma used to sit in, home is where the heart is, my home is here...
I see we can put videos on here, haven't seen any though, or photos.

Some on the forum show their inns, others are anonymous. So Stevewitharoom may or may not be the name of your place. It's up to you. The reason many on forum are anonymous is they come here to vent or talk about guests or issues ...
Welcome

The logic behind editing your posts - you cannot edit a post with a response. The reason - too many people were making Swiss cheese out of posts after the fact.
