One of our rooms is dark chocolate brown with teal... we just bought light teal sheets to co-ordinate with the present darker teal matelassé coverlet too.
The L Room. In fact, years ago the owners of your famous chocolate store picked that very room to stay in '07. They volunteered to take care of the inn so that I could go to my Dad's funeral, pre-Poppa moving up here. We declined, but 'twas a nice thought..
Love your wainscotting! We've added that in one room and will be doing another. A little bit of a highlight to make the fireplaces stand out.

The breadboard in all the baths?

I'm all for the teal/turquoise look! Problem is trying to find that online in the exact right shade. It would definitely go with the pictures on the walls which have that light teal color.
I'm leaning toward this, which I just found.
This is the coral I liked. But it might not go with the overall house.
This one is restful in a taupe-y shade..
The coral....

The beige is going to need a lot of cleaning.

I've been switching over to solids. White, yellow and green in different rooms. I didn't want them at first due to all the cleaning from dirty suitcases but guests have been remarkably kind to the bedding this year.

Yeah, but beige shows everything. And pastels like coral... are OLD... 70s.

Have you seen the 'new' fridge colors? And bell bottoms are back. And brass light fixtures (now that I've removed all of them!)
Not to worry, the coral is out.

I like the first one the best. Turquoise would also work but you might have to hunt around to see it in person before judging the color.

Yes, it's definitely an in person color. I have sailing charts in the room and the rivers are the perfect blue-green color. If I could find a cover in that shade I'd buy it!

Fads always fade out. That's why I like the BEHR site, you choose your colours and it manages to find some interesting combos that you may not have considered.
Then again, all my rooms are painted the exact same colour with the exact same finish so that I can easily do touch-ups. But it's a neutral that I can put different linens and curtains into.
The colour of the moment is actually shades of greyish. And Behr's colour trends are at http://www.behr.com/consumer_ca/inspiration/2016-colour-trends but I'll be honest, I only like the first (high contrast) and the last (lyrical living) as I find the others too trendy. Benjamin Moore's are at http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-ca/for-your-home/benjamin-moore-colour-trends-2016 and Sherwinn-Williams is at http://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-collection/color-forecast/color-of-the-year/?WT.ac=/homeowners/%20CS2%20/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-collection/color-forecast/color-of-the-year/
I really like the alabaster that Sherwinn Williams has as colour of the year and the other neutrals that they have a a damn nice palate to have in the background so that the room can be done simply by it's linens. The vintage gold is pretty good is well, but the Urbane Bronze... wow, that will make a room pop.
