It's a great question. They provide the biohazard bag (with a twist tie ???) and I would hope that they address onward disposal in the instruction brochure.

Yes you call 1-800-disaster and they send one of these hazmat "couriers" out to collect it for $10,000

I don't want to be gruff but we are in the bodily fluids business. I remember in Australia when the nurses all went on strike saying they require bio hazard fee and they did it get it for a while then the gvmt said"well that is part of your job, if you prick yourself with a syringe while drawing blood, you are sol."

You reminded me of George Carlin who when talking about the things that you can and can't say on television always pointed out that there were words you could say, but only in specific contexts. And one of them was that it was perfectly fine to say on television "To prick your finger." but totally unacceptable to say the opposite.
