“Could you please tell me and all the internet your network password?”

“Dear Team, I am staying on vacation with the family in a property near you, which unfortunatelly does not have secured Internet access. I would need to work tomorrow for a few hours and I am looking for a place with secured Internet access (with a password). Is that possible in your hotel? Thank you very much in advance for your response.”

At first, I was so struck by the audacity of a non-guest asking for use of my Wi-Fi, that I didn’t recognize it for the scam it was.

I would hope we all have a different/separate password for our guest network from our business/personal network.

I had a guy ask me for my router number once. Ummmm, no.
