Have you considered buying a template and using Word Press?
It is annoying when you can't get a response when you need one.
It took me eons to make the switch to a WP-based site but it does what I want and it's semi-easy to learn.
Try to avoid having advertising from another company on your site. Some website building sites have different levels of payment with the free to cheap versions usually meaning you have a big ad on your site..
weebly or wix for something similar, but I agree with Mort on Wordpress. It is the gold standard. A good template, plugins, etc.
Woo (Commerce) has a good reputation related to WP themes.
Your website is SO central are keeping it updated/fresh content very important for SEO. You can get someone to help you/educate you in the setup, but the owner needs to keep after it reasonably.
