I seriously hope we get picked!
Guy with a camera and a letter of introduction asked if he could take pictures for an upcoming movie. We said yes. I checked out the director and sure enough, he is in preproduction for a movie set on Cape Cod.
I would absolutely love for my house to have a role in a movie.

we are lucky here due to lots of unchanged Victorian buidlings we get quite a bit of filming - Hunters Prayer was the last thing I know of but is supposed to be Switzerland racing through the cobbled streets!

I hope it happens and it is a legit and good movie that will bring people to stay with you!

true filming can be both good PR and good business if they want to film inside ie pay t do so and or place to stay while filming outside - make sure you have a contract mind as they can be Very Squiggley!

I agree! The introduction letter said that the location will be financially compensated. Certainly, we won't agree to it if it isn't worth our while. This is the season where we make our money. Plus, we already have bookings. We won't kick out our guests.

Hey...what's up? I feel slighted...you are no where near Cape Cod!

Do you know what the movie is about?

We have a writer in house right now. She is working on a book that takes place here so she comes and stays to get a feel for the property, etc. Tonight she ran into writer's block…. Hope tomorrow is better!

I know!! funny.
This town was also on the short list to be Amity Island for "Jaws." We didn't make the cut, but many years later, Kate Capshaw (Steve Spielberg's wife) used our town to film, "The Love Letter."
The town has been in other movies too. Most recently, "The Proposal." I think Hollywood knows how to find us.

So it's going to be about the family in Hyannisport....makes sense that they could use your venue as a substitute as both are beachy-residential locations with class. Keeping our fingers crossed for you.

I have to say I laughed out loud when I looked up the director and saw what the movie was.
I honestly hope they use us, but there are an awful lot of pretty oceanfront towns in New England. So we'll see.
