Both rooms checking in tonight said 3 PM. Neither has arrived or called at 7 PM. I'm off the clock now. Shoes off, feet up.

Absolutely. I am fine with hosts/innkeepers coming to the door in slippers when I am late! They should be, too. It's assumed you have 'staff' so try not to take it personally. A hundred years ago when I first stayed at a b&b I didn't realize it was the woman's home and she was 'it'.

Thing is, of course, we worry. Are they ok? Did they make a mistake on the date? Flight cancelled or delayed?
Or, like you're saying - bad roads? They're fine here so I wouldn't even be thinking about that!
Then I think how the heat's been on for 5 hours for no reason! And I've gone thru and cleaned the rooms for nothing!
Speaking of which - I can go run the dryer now. Forgot all about it!

No. In peak season, yes. Right now? Not worth the aggro. And guest is in hospitality. She immediately offered to pay.
