I am thinking of compiling a list of useful apps for our guests as a blog article. If I get at least 8 to 10 app suggestions will share it here and you call can copy and post as well on your own blog. I was prompted as I just downloaded a "White Noise" app. How cool is that? Pretty dang cool.
Do you have any recommendations for your guests (or our guests) that may be useful when they travel, tour or stay with us?
Best travel apps as recommended by innkeepers
White Noise App
Sounds for sleep and relaxation
Traveling with someone who snores? TV noises, loud cell phone conversations or traffic bother you? We recommend this white noise app,. you can enjoy with or without headphones.

One mentioned already on this forum:
BringFido
For pet-lovers, this app helps users travel the world with their furry friends, from mapping out parks where dogs are welcome to booking pet-friendly hotels.

Hey Ranger - for national park info. I use it a lot.
Clio - historic sites near you.
Salt Water Tides - in case you need to know for hiking beaches
Audubon Birds.

There are two that I just used on a road trip ... not terribly glamorous but helpful.
WIFI Map - it gives the location and public password. if you need one, and also some notes like 'poor cellphone reception'. So if it's maybe a public library you can pull in to the parking lot and get online using the password. works on android and iphone
Toilet Finder - could use a better name but very helpful when trying to locate a public restroom quickly in an unfamiliar area ... I guess it's a fairly new app so no ratings but it worked for us. iphone

We just discovered Google Translate. We had guests from China here for 10 days and it was a godsend! It's best when using short phrases. You can speak or type in English and it will translate to any language and vice versa.

JB, I love this idea for a blog article! Thanks for letting us share it when it's finished.

just be aware its not entirely accurate - its fine for say "apple" but struggles with grammar depending so use with caution.

It definitely has its limitations, but for short sentences it was fabulous. We had a lot of good laughs trying to get messages across, but that made it even better. "Laughter is the shortest distance between two people" ~ Victor Borge
