Who loved everything. Took 800 photos yesterday and showed them all to me. Wrote what I hope is something wonderful in the guest book (it's in 2 different languages with completely different alphabets). Ran back in the house because they forgot a tip for the housekeeper. Set a timer on their watches so they would be back in time for checkout. Ate everything.

And, they had a package for 4 guests which got them $150 in restaurant GC's. (Because we easily spend more than $75 for 2 when we go there.) They barely broke $100. They gave the rest to the server as a tip.

I'll second that - we need more of these people. I had one today who got back from hiking and just came and found me because I was so busy at breakfast I didn't get to see them. Hubby did all the serving and I was stuck in the kitchen. He just wanted to tell me that breakfast was incredible and they were so happy and he was going to bring up his cans and recycle stuff himself and put them in the bucket so I didn't have to do it. (By the way they ate exactly the same breakfast that the guy last week was disappointed with because it wasn't a "gastronomic delight" … that guy is probably the one everyone rolls their eyes at during a party because of the stupid stuff he says!) These kind comments make you realize that you are great at what you do and the few you can't please are not worth worrying about. Glad you had some good ones too!

I had a good natter with the restaurant owner today. He says everyone's a critic now and he's had people write reviews about entire cuisines he doesn't serve.
And yes, your gastro snob is the one everyone rolls their eyes at.

Today I had a repeat visit from my very first B&B guest. (He comes about once a year). I'm sort of getting used to the kiss on each cheek after all these years. For the very first time this year he showed me pictures of his children and grandchildren... and his 400 year old castle!
