Be more responsive.
Wow. I'm impressed. We paid for our listing and this was an emailed suggestion for us today - write management responses to your reviews. 80% of TA users believe that hotels that respond to reviews care more about their guests.
No **** Sherlock. We've been responding to reviews for 5 years. The email purports to tell us we're NOT responding and thus it's our fault that our paid listing isn't working out. (Yup, two months in and not a single click to our site from TA.)

My friends don't pay them nor do they reply.but TA is still their #1 referrer

My e-mail from them today said 80% more bookings come if you display TA reviews on your website. Wanting me to use their load-slowing widgets.

My site took forever to load when I added that 2 years ago. Took it right back out. I use the badge photo but no link. I have my own text that shows up underneath.

Yes, I used to have the widgets but took your advice and replaced them with just photos and text. But the photos are linked so clicking the photo takes them to my TA review page. I don't think that slows things down at all.
It's their widget (java script) that slows things down because when people open your page, it has to go to TA, find your account, get your review or rating info, and draw it on your website for people to see. It does it freshly every time, which assures the latest content, but takes valuable time to do.

That's why God created cut-and-paste.

I do that also, take a snapshot and provide the TA link, no loading. And with the widget that shows the last 5 reviews, if a stinky review shows up, it's not automatically fed to the widget for all to see.

That's why God created cut-and-paste.

I love the Snipping Tool. Use it several times every day. I used to do screen captures then crop them in Paint, but Snipping Tool saves so many steps!

Snipping tool is the best! Now resides in my bottom toolbar.

Same here, but I need to remember to manually update number of reviews.
