Speaking of the wrong room

Showed a couple to our two room suite last evening. Bedroom was fine but when I showed them the sitting room, the TV was on and the chair was pulled smack in front of the TV. I laughed, suggested the housekeeper likes to watch as she cleans and fixed it.
But what I know really happened is, the three girls in the room next door, ranging in age from 8 - 17 or so, probably thought that would be a great place to park the 8 year old when she got bored.
I am trying to give the parents (who are in a different room) the benefit of the doubt. But of course, they are the ones that leave the box of photos and the board game on the living room table even though they have not rented the whole house. They have 4 of 6 rooms. Almost worse than the whole house.

Absolutely. Guests think anything that's not locked is fair game.
I'm surprised I haven't found locks pried open by the curious!

If for no other reason than some guests simply think it's better to go stink up another room's bathroom instead of their own. And they don't care what mess they leave behind.
We've also had guests too lazy to walk upstairs to their own room and I've seen them coming out of the downstairs rooms. A quick check shows they've used the loo, towels, soap.
Or take all the towels from another room.
Or play Goldilocks and try out all the beds.

Mine has been taking pillows from another bed rather than ask about extra pillows or LOOK in the dresser drawer or the shelf in the closet - I have a DAUGHTER guilty of this even

You will never regret this. This time is was just a chair and TV misplaced - what about when a guest goes to use the bathroom and someone has left a surprise in the toilet. How would you be able to explain that one. We've never left our doors open in 10 years and never will after the nightmares that others have told us about. Those who want to see other rooms ask and we gladly show them. It won't hurt your business at all.

You will never regret this. This time is was just a chair and TV misplaced - what about when a guest goes to use the bathroom and someone has left a surprise in the toilet. How would you be able to explain that one. We've never left our doors open in 10 years and never will after the nightmares that others have told us about. Those who want to see other rooms ask and we gladly show them. It won't hurt your business at all.

And for 10 years we have never locked empty guest rooms, perhaps 1 time we noticed something minor awry , but decided it could have been a ghost.

We lock all unoccupied bedrooms and linen/storage closet. We do get a lot of snuppers-some pretend that they are lost when we catch them in our apartment.
