Second one this season has found FT employment and moved on. It's really too late to train someone now so we're on the hook for the fall season. It's really just 5 weeks. Blocking off the 7th room so we don't fall apart. We'll survive.

I know. Ours went back to college. Our maintenance guy can still do some work between classes and homework.

I wish you had a local agency that could supply.
How long does it take you to train them? I had mine doing the basic stuff within the day... and doing most of it without help within a week. Still check after them, still do a final sweep. Sure, I pay more with the agency, but I also don't have to do pay cheques, etc. I do collect the tips and split them according to who worked which days, etc.
We have someone 3 hours a day. Perfect for a stay at home mom who wants a few extra hours... 11 to 2, they can be home for breakfast, clean up, and back for picking up the child after school.

I've tried contacting the first one but her mailbox is full and she hasn't replied to email. She had been able to come in a few hours during the week for a couple of weeks.

Her office is her car. ;-)

Sorry to hear that! We've had terrible luck as well... people should read the job description and consider the position before they take it... we've had so many part-time staff come and go; made us feel like it's us after awhile... here's hoping your Fall runs smoothly!

or they lie - usually the case round here - they want any work so take the first thing offered while continuing to look around for something better
Its one of the reasons we employed our currant chamber maid is she has only left jobs for really good reasons ie chamber maid job was left due to owner selling and it becoming flats
