#2 Grandson is getting married next month. I wanted to give them something special but was not sure how it would be taken. So I asked. I messaged this photo to my about-to-be granddaughter and asked. Told her that NO was an acceptable answer and no feelings would be hurt if the answer was NO.

I asked her if she would like this set of Fostoria goblets that I have been collecting since 1962. She said yes. I will take the pitcher to the set with me on the plane in July - it weighs a ton!

oh, that gives me goose bumps! That is sooooooo sweet and generous of you! I love those goblets!

I had already asked what color her dishes were - she said red - so they will be OK. I have juice, sherbet, water, and iced teas and will give service for 6. (plus extras if I have them for when something breaks.)

You're a wonderful grandma! Is this the girl that came and clean, painted, etc last year?

Yes and she even said yes after spending 2-days in a long, narrow room with my daughter..........

love it! It's so great to give things away and SEE them being used. I gave all my china to my daughter and on holidays what a delight when it's all laid out for a family dinner!

What a lovely set! You are so lucky to have a nice home to send them to...they will always think of you and what better way to show your love than to give away your precious glass.

Wonderful gift and so sweet that she is smart enough to know their value as ah heirloom!
