Seeing reviews for everything and when I buy something or use a service I get repeated requests to post a review
Today a church I work for got a review ... three stars of out five ... no comment. I do their bookkeeping and handle all email and phone inquiries. I can't find the reviewer's name anywhere. They are on 'summer schedule' with less things happening in July and August. I have no idea when this person might have come to the church or called the church or attended an activity (they host GA, AA, AWOL, Dance classes, Yoga, Meditation, and so many other outside support groups). The church has only two reviews and this is one of them ... it came in via google places and the church can't contact the reviewer personally, although I can post a reply online. I've emailed the minister and a few who run groups to ask about the reviewer. Not happy to see this I want to post 'How can we help you?' But wonder if I should just leave it alone?
I check phone and email messages constantly and will contact anyone who reaches out even if the church can't help them ... I've got lots of referral info. And the minister puts his personal cell phone out there for texts and calls. So I know we're responsive.
I just feel like this whole review the world business is out of control.
Okay ... end of rant.

Agreed. Everyone is a critic, some take it as an important job!

I do ask on departure for reviews but am getting fewer than in the past. Everyone is inundated with requests, plus TA's sign up process is annoying.

If they left no comment let it go.
I have 1, 2, 3 star reviews on Facebook from people who never stayed here or called us or anything.
There is nothing you can do if someone doesn't tell you why they are unhappy. Maybe they couldn't find parking. Maybe the AA meetings didn't help. Maybe it's the damn bride who doesn't want to pay for the lousy husband she got!

I ask guests to sign up for our newsletter. No more review requests. I'm so done with that. It's a listing game for folks like us who are just folks.

It's a way to make people feel important. TA is always telling me to write reviews to earn this badge and that one…. Somehow they are connected with your search engine. Review Generic's B&B and get 100 points!…. Just go away TA!

Its a church for heavens sake. Who reviews a church or who even looks for church reviews? Let it alone. Why do you feel a need to do something? If nothing was said who cares? We can't live in fear of reviews

crazy .... I care because as admin of their website I got the notice of the review ... and 'no one' seems to know who the woman is. It shows a name and a picture of the reviewer but there is no way to reach out except via an online response. I just think google places is encouraging reviews everywhere and even though it's a place it's not quite a business like a restaurant to be reviewed.
I'll leave it alone.

Which reminds me, I moved down .1 on BK because of a review yesterday that called my breakfast "medium". Can't please everyone.

I agree with EN...no one is going to look for reviews on a church. Don't let this drain your energy. Onward and upward!

You may be able to use that picture. Right click on the picture, choose "copy image address" then go into google images, click on the camera, put in the URL and it may help you find that similar image elsewhere and give you more clues as to who it is.
