Once an Innkeeper always an Innkeeper

Our Friday night guests couldn't wait to share the story with us. They walked downtown looking for dinner. Hubby had told them that the town is pretty much shut down in the winter, but there is one place open. Off they went. (It was not great walking weather - windy and cold.)
They stopped in an open gallery to escape the wind and regroup. Three women were there chatting. The guests asked about dinner and got the same advice, there is one place open, but it's not walking close. And they don't serve wine. The owner of the gallery offered them a bottle to bring to the restaurant and a ride! Nice. The guest says, "I don't want to be cheeky, but, do you have a red wine?" (yes, they are from UK.)
The owners' friend offered, "I live across the street from the restaurant. I will take you there and we can stop at my place for red wine."
(By this time, I already knew the punch line from the address and description.) I said, "OMG, You met PO!!" Yep. It was the previous owner of our Inn.
She joined them for dinner, told them stories of the Inn and they had a delightful time. They wrote in our guest book and most of it was about the PO. They proclaimed our town the friendliest they'd ever visited!

Ahhhhhh...another example of why you never say anything negative about the previous owners or the way they did things to your guests!

Good point. And we never do. When asked about the work we say, every house in New England needs work. Not, she didn't do a think for over 10 years.

I always say we are really fussy and we want it the way we want it. Again not that nothing was done under 2 previous owners for about 15 years!
