Mother and daughter here for two nights, but no, they made a mistake. They only wanted one night! They are regulars so DH says he’ll give them a refund less the cancellation fee of $25.

As they are packing the car, “ I was hoping we could get a late checkout. We are going on a tour and will be back around 12:30. We agreed but reminded them that a late checkout is $20 an hour.

No, you can’t cancel the second night but stay here the second day anyway.

The nerve! (Said in my best 3 Stooges voice.) We had situations like that as well. Tough when it’s repeats. Some try to take advantage.

In the end, they paid $50 for the late checkout and also bought a cookbook and a Christmas ornament! So $90 extra dollars for us! But a lot of aggravation and we had to let the housekeeper go home befor they checked out so we had to turn the room ourselves. Not the worst thing, but there’s a reason we have a housekeeper!
