So I walked downstairs at 6:30am to find that our personal dishes shelf had given way sometime between midnight and 2:30am. Broken glass was all over the floor in front of the counter. 1) Luckily the blender on the counter stopped most of the stuff from continuing onto the floor to its death which the one summer help had forgotten to put away after making a smoothie. Had it gone down we would have had smoothie leftover along with broken glass. 2) Thankfully none of our guests dishes, etc were kept in that area or needed to be prepared over there. 3) No one was in the kitchen when it happened. All hands were called to help whether they had breakfast duty or not. It was all cleaned up and breakfast ready before I had to leave at 7:45am to go meet friends off 95 so my mom had a way back home. The friends got lost so we spent more time than I had figured on trying to find them and switching Mom and suitcases from one vehicle to another. I returned back to the inn after stopping at the store for items to start on cleaning the rooms to find out that the one summer help was back upstairs so nothing had been started and breakfast needed to be cleared, dishes washed, etc. After cleaning the rooms and between switching laundry over I hauled everything off the counter and went through it all to make sure nothing had broken glass and all dishes left was in one piece and ran through the dishwasher. I limped upstairs and collapsed into bed with the knowledge that breakfast making came too early the next day…. I have recovered except for I redid my arch in on my foot…. I spent the afternoon with my foot up. But look on the bright side, tomorrow's another day….
