I know this has been discussed but I can't find actual names of the toppers everyone likes. More like 'I got it at such and such store.'
Can you be more specific? This brand. This thickness. Gel or foam? With a cover? Without?
Buying one for me this time and then for a room that I can't afford to completely redo but that needs some sprucing up.
I've read reviews and they're all over the place. Wonderful! Best ever! Sleeping like a baby! Aches and pains all gone! Can't get the smell out! Disgusting! Threw it away! Lasted 2 weeks and it's all flat!

I got mine at Walmart. As far as thickness, in my case it was based on what would make my sheets nice and tight so they are wrinkle free. I think they are 2 inches thick.
I had one complaint of the mattress being too firm before I got the foam toppers. I've had nothing but compliments since I got them.

Brand name?

Our Walmart only sells 1 brand. I don't remember what they call it. To me, memory foam is memory foam. I've never been able to tell one brand from another.
They have 1.5", 2", and 3". Thickness depends on what your sheets will fit over.
In my opinion you can get too much memory foam. I'm not crazy about it myself. I prefer 2" so the firmness of the mattress can still come through for people who like more support, but it's enough foam to give a soft cushion for those who like that.
2" is a nice middle of the road.

I agree with Arks. 2" is the max for me, otherwise it's too hot or too squishy for me.

Yes I also agree with Ark and BD. Two inch foam works best as it still allows a bit of firmness. it as also helps if you have a small wow in the mattress. Mine I bought at Costco it comes with a cover which is great as you can wash it. MINE IS A JEL MEMORY FORM .

opps sorry caps. I bought mine at Costco. I also use a mattress cover too, as I bought it at wall mart as it wicks a way the heat in the summer. Then no one complains the mattress is to warm.
I certainly have got many complements about my mattress.

The walmart one came with a cover, but I didn't need to use it since the topper is INSIDE my BB-proof, waterproof mattress encasement.
I had one couple who were late leaving because they said the bed was so good. I'm assuming they were sleeping.

I got mine for our bed at Aldi's ( I love that place) only $89 for King! We love it!!!

Got a queen size last night to test. All they had at stuff mart were the gel toppers. They are supposedly cooler so it might be a better option. Not that anyone will sleep directly on it, there will be a mattress topper on top of the topper. Got the 2" size.
It's been 'resting' for about 18 hours. It's puffed up quite a lot but it still has a really rippled surface and it smells really funky. I'll leave it for the recommended 2 days and see what it looks like.
I've flipped it over to see if that helps flatten it out.
It's never going back in the box it came out of. No idea how I would get it in the car to return it.

I actually prefer a larger wow in my mattress. (Sorry, couldn't let that one go by.)
