Last call for mobile, if you are not in you are out...
"Google's New Mobile-First Index and the Death of Desktop SEO"
More here

You mean I've done something correctly with the accordion style format? Wow!
And, note that I have an actual smartphone, my site looks good on that, too!
Uh oh. My price charts don't format properly.

I've never understood why Google cares so much about website load speed. When I do a Google search, finding the content I'm looking for is what it's all about.
I understand why web designers want fast sites. People leave if it takes too long. I just don't understand why Google, as a company, cares so much. Seems like delivering the page with the info people need should be by far Google's top priority.
But they didn't ask me. Nobody ever asks me, and I have so many answers ;-)

Will the change in crawling significantly impact rankings? In a word, no. As is usually the case, though, there’s a caveat. Both Illyes and his cohort, Paul Haahr, said that mobile-first indexing shouldn’t result in a significant change in the rankings. They added that it’s too early to tell, though. Certainly, if your site isn’t friendly to a mobile audience, you shouldn’t expect it to rank well for certain keywords.
Wait... so what is it? "Death of Desktop SEO" is a ridiculously overkill statement... Can't take an article seriously with a title like this one :)

Remember who the audience is. Not everyone is up to speed on their web presence on this forum, not by a long chalk.
