I thought all your rooms had tv now. Do you still have some without?.

Right, all the rooms have TVs which have no restrictions. The TV in the living room IS restricted, for my sensibilities. No idea why they needed to watch the show there.
I didn't want to unlock the restrictions because there were other guests walking thru who might not have wanted to see graphic violence.

Take the tv out of there! Make it a quiet reading area. Now there is no reason to have a common tv.

I can't. In order to hook up all the TV's we had to go wireless. To do that we have to have one TV that is the 'home' for the wireless box. That TV can't be in a guest room, for all the reasons you can think of! So, I'm stuck with having to have the TV in the living room, still.
I've considered if we can move it into the basement and will ask Gomez what he thinks. It was my plan to not have a TV in the common space once they were in all the rooms. Best laid plans and all that.

Are you saying if that common area TV is turned off, or unplugged, none of the other TVs will work? I doubt that. I suspect the wireless will work fine if you leave the box in place, disconnect the TV from it and put the TV on eBay. The TV being there is not the magic. The box is the magic.
.
Ok, testing done. Thank you for prodding me to check into this in person. We don't need the TV in the living room for the box to work.
Hallelujah!
We can move this tv to Gomez's office now.

Awesome! I never would have thought of it.
I do not want a TV in the common room either. We have soft music for breakfast and no noise at all most of the day.

If the receiver box is turned off the TV's won't work, yes. But it has to be connected to a tv in order to work. Even if that TV is turned off, it can't be unplugged.
Ok, after discussing this, Gomez is off to test the theory that the box has to be connected to the TV. He thinks the tech misunderstood the question.
Stay tuned...
.
we have this will our ariel booster - must be connected to a TV ariel but the TV doesn't have to be on - so in theory no tv just the point is important.

I did not reply because I do not have a common area to have a TV in, but my TVs in the rooms are basic cable plus (sports channels are on the plus) and did not set parental controls. We really so not get than many kids even though we accept them. (Have a 10 y-o coming in tonight. Putting her in another room because I do not want to put up the cot and then will add the new waterproof mattress protector when I flip the room. It is not a "fluffy" mattress cover - I put it under the fluffy protector. And there IS NO crackle - I put one on our bed to check it out.)

Problem solved at our place: we have no TV's in the house, anywhere. Good strong and reliable Wifi and they plug in their headphones, in their rooms or the common areas. Those that want TV don't book with us. We are plenty busy enough even without TV's..

Sorry, but there is a big difference in the amenities expected in a room that rents for under $100 and one that is closer to $200 per night. TVs are expected in higher priced rooms.
