I'm sitting here eating lunch....waiting for my aunt to find her ruler so we could measure something so I can go to the store.....

I served 8 guests and helped DD prepare for and have a yard sale this morning. Family laundry to do. 3 fluffs, one turn over and 2 check-ins.
I'm pooped. All I want to do is sit on the front porch and drink!

This morning I helped plant 25 tomato plants in the Community Garden and then while Lee chose the places by digging the holes in the raised gardens, I planted 12 sweet peppers and 12 hot peppers in the raised gardens. After I took some photos, I went for the bananas I needed for my fruit baskets. I am still trying to straighten out a reservation glitch at the second inn in an inn-to-inn package - they are not answering the phone (the other inn).
Just as I was putting the vac away, one couple arrived. (He tells me he works part-time at a 4-room B & B in Ohio (no web site, just an anemic FB page). I DID end up with a graduation 1-nighter - they just e-mailed they will be here between 8 & 9.
Now, I need everyone to cross their fingers someone shows up at Chapel tonight at Midnight - or I will be there until 2 AM. One breakfast at 9. Do not know about the other one yet.

After breakfast & 3 fluffs & 1 turn over, DD gave us the afternoon off to visit with friends. We had a nice crawfish boil, craft beer and great friendship. Boy it has been a while since I just relaxed.

That's one area that most people just don't get about what life as a busy innkeeper is. We had family visiting us for a week recently and also had guests staying at the same time. We went out to celebrate our anniversary and I refused to take the cell phone. NO, not on my anniversary with family. I lost 2 reservations because of it, but it was worth every penny.

We had a rare night on the town on Saturday. Dinner and a concert. We met two other innkeepers while we were out! One at dinner and one at the concert. A special night all around.
