Had a call wanting to reserve, "the room with the separate entrance by the driveway."
That room is now referred to as our TV room. We moved into it when we bought the house 2 1/2 years ago.
We took over, not only the owners' 3 room apartment, but two rentable rooms on the first floor that are connected by a doorway to the owners' apartment. We downsized, but we didn't want to give up our TV room and family guest room.

This place has been open for 29 years. We heard a lot of different descriptions of rooms as the old guard returned!
Best (and worst) is when guests mistake us for the place up the street and want 'a room in the barn'. Um. Wrong number.

We get that too. The place up the street was the best resort inn in town for years. (I was a waitress there in my college days.) They had a big house, cottages, a cliff overlook, a small lake. They had a full restaurant kitchen and served breakfast, lunch and dinner to their guests and for a time, were open to the public for breakfast.
The property is now condos. Summer homes for people from Boston.
Both their name and ours start with the word, "sea". We are two doors down the street.
People who think they are getting them are disappointed to find they are getting us. But we turn 'em around!

Of course you do, you are better than they ever were and YOU had better believe it.
