I added memory foam toppers in one room. Was waiting for our repeats to test out the bed as they've slept on the old bed and would notice the difference.
They loved it! That's been repeated a couple of times since they went on the beds so I think it's a success story.
I rely a lot on our repeats to let me know if I'm doing things right. Many of them are not shy. ;-)

I love that you wait for the repeats. You know they already love you and yet will be the first to let you know if they notice a change.
We also use them. The house came with feather toppers and they are heavy and difficult to work with . The memory foam are lightweight and very comfy. We liked them so much, we got one for ourselves.

When we first bought the place I was afraid to touch anything except to replace old linen. So many guests said, "I'm so happy you didn't change things!"
Now, those folks are mostly gone, sorry to say.
I would have ripped the wallpaper down years ago but they liked it. I started with rooms with more adventurous repeats. ;-)
So sweet hearing - I love what you've done with my room!
I know it probably sounds odd but I looked to those guests for what made them happy. Let them do the 'towel test' when we were buying new. We've had repeats do taste tests on coffee and juice and we tell new guests that the repeat guests did the testing for us.
We save new recipes for repeats, too.
We've added things to the rooms based on repeat guest requests, because hey, their money is paying for it!
So yes, I rely on them to tell me what's missing and what we're doing right.

Great to know you have some wonderful guests who you can count on instead of all those other PITA's you get

99%.

I smash on -regulars bedamed - they always say we liked it before but we love it now -
especially the extra plug sockets I put in everywhere!

Those repeats are worth their weight in gold.
99.999% of our guests love the memory foam toppers.
One repeat who has had back surgery and still has problems asks me to remove it. She needs extra firm. Her hubby loved the topper but surrenders to wife's wishes. I think they have a dual number adjustable bed at home.

Yup, Repeats see everything. We just had repeats come and spend a week. They loved all the changes! We had their check in day as our deadline.

I know its hilarious - we did room 10, new bed, chairs decorated etc whole bit - regulars notice that we had changed the bathroom door handle which had always been a bit loose!

That's a riot! I LIVE with people who don't notice half of what I get fixed without my pointing it out. They must really like your place.
