As soon as I decide to shut down the computer the calls start coming in. Absolutely no one who calls just before 9 is willing to book online. I do not understand that.
They all want me to call them in the morning.
And they don't leave a message, they just keep calling.

Try deciding to turn off the computer at 5pm.

I know what you mean. As soon as you decide to stand up to do something, take a bite into your food, etc….. RING! goes the door bell or phone… Just the way things happen around here as well.

I suppose I hurt myself by suggesting that folks call around suppertime, but it is the one time that I'm pretty sure we will be near the phone and not out running around working on some project. Nothing makes the phone ring like the computer in your lap and a bowl of soup in the other hand.

I don't know your tush hitting the toilet seat would give it a run for its money closely followed by washing your hair or getting in the shower!

Another example. One of our summer help made an apple pie today. Yummy! I got myself a piece and sat down with it. FIve reservation later, the now cold piece of pie is finished… Maybe I should cut myself another piece…

Too true. When we are waiting for the "4:00 pm arrival" at 6:30, I tell DW to put dinner on and that will bring them in asap.
I do leave the phone on at night for guests who may need help (I can wake fully or fall back asleep in seconds, so not a hardship or I wouldn't do it).
Interesting calls: a while back, 12:30 am, Tesla running low on available miles; needed bed and a charge.
Last night, 1:30 am, "do you have a registered guest by the name of N----"
"We don't disclose guests, what is the issue?"
"[local police department], we have a guy with a key card, but he doesn't remember the name of the motel."
"We don't issue key cards ... "
"OK [click]"
I am sure he was a great guest, sorry I missed having him here.
