I had a guest who made reservations over the phone. I ran the debit card for the first night (deposit) . Well she wanted to cancel. 3 days before the reservation. I said fine but she was responsible for the the total of the whole stay. Then she said that she would have to check with her hubby that they might come. I was to call her the next day, which I did but she still doesn't know if they are coming or not. She was to call me back. I "put the rooms" back to vacant after she told me she wasn't coming. (I never rebooked the room) I never hear back from her till yesterday when she sent me an email and she stated she never made the reservation. I don't plan on giving her any of her money back. I have every email that was sent and I could get proof that we have talked on the phone.
I'm not upset, as a matter of fact I'm looking at this as a learning opportunity.
Dare I charge for the other night? ( I haven't, I didn't want to come off as a B*tch)
Is a debit card harder then a credit card to get a charge back?
