I am totally exhausted and still have band rehearsal tonight BUT:
I no longer have a full-size bed in ANY room (or in the house). Thank you Mission.
There is now a king bed in the Gillum Room (and the night stands too). I still have to take measurements for the bookcase headboard I want to replace those night stands.
The Harris Room now has a 2-poster queen-size bed (the footboard posts are not going back on the bed). Night stands fit there also.
There is more room than I expected to have with the bigger beds.
I have about another hour of work to put things back to guest-ready. Putting lamps back, chamber pots back under the beds, that kind of stuff. I need to buy a LONG surge protector cord for the Gillum Room. The Harris Room is basically ready to go now.
The Mission guys put the king mattress on upside down (it has a bb envelope around it that has a broken zipper so they could not tell). I discovered it when I went to put the mattress pad on. I am proud to say I flipped that sucker all by myself - I huffed and I puffed, and I figured out how to do it. YEA. Maybe photos tomorrow. The Mission sent 3 guys and I slipped each of them a $20. (They did have to dismantle the Gillum bed but it was easier than I thought it would be - the sideboards came out of the slots and DH's "fix" was in the center of the sideboards.)

that's great! you can tweak the arranging and decor as you go if need be and figure out what works best. it's awesome. i'm glad you did it.

you must be so relieved and satisfied to have it DONE!.
Oh yes. And the strange thing is that Tuesday when it was originally scheduled was rainy. Yesterday was cold but dry. Today is rain again. Timing is everything.
Rain is predicted for tomorrow so out Christmas Parade is re-scheduled for Sunday afternoon but our Christmas Concert will be tomorrow night as scheduled.

Well done!

You have inspired me to consider replacing the queen bed in the cottage with a king. My DH (like yours) is kicking and screaming and I don't have it in me to do it this year. But, I will be paying close attention to the kinds of questions I get about bed size and see if not having a king bed is limiting our occupancy in the cottage during the months we plan to stay open.
Please keep coming back to tell us how the new size bed is impacting your occupancy.

I have not raised the price on that room yet - trying to decide if I could charge (and get) $150. The Harris has been raised to $109 (from 99). I think I will increase everything by at least $10 in January.
I have had inquiries for king in the past. The first rez to get the king is due in tonight. I will have to go up and sleep on it myself next week to see how comfortable it is. It looked quite nice. And I also need to take the measurements to get the headboard made. It looks plain without a headboard.
I am thinking of taking the 2 unused bedposts from the queen that was just moved up to the kid who is making the headboard to cut the finials off the posts to be put into the footboard replacing the bedposts with just the finials.
I am in my off-season now but will keep all posted. I need a brighter day to take photos (not a lot of light doe photos in the rooms without it) - we are in a rain cycle right now. Our Christmas Parade was rescheduled to tomorrow because of rain (as were most Parades in the area because of the rain). Our Concert is tonight though. We will see how many come to the Concert because they are here for the Parade or just for the Concert.

Well done!

Most of our guests are more interested in the view than the bed size. But I do have personal friends who would only book a king.

.
That is an easy one here - the view is of trees on the hill above the fire department and Library rooftops. BED is the highlight.
