Hi - trying to build mid-week business travel activity in my Inn. Is there a discount that is the "norm" for a business traveler rate?
For example: 20% of room rate price?

We have what we call "single business traveler". In winter $129 and I can stretch to meet US per diem if I bundle breakfast and room allowance. But it's single.

Maybe I'm just an old grump, but I see two kinds of discounts.
The real discount which should be helping me as the business person, discount mid-week when we are not busy, discount in a slow month, discount for my favorite group just because I want to support them. Business rates could fall in this group "if" it draws enough traffic to make it worth your time.
Then there is the other type discount, I ask too much up front and play the game where everyone gets some sort of markdown if they are smart enough to ask, I don't put much stock in that sort of discount.

I have a bereavement rate - I have raised it a bit over the years to $80 now with breakfast. That is the rate I use as corporate rate. Hotels have a corporate rate and I may as well also if I want the business. I do not get much business guests but a room night without commission is money (I do not do any OTA so I do not pay commissions anyway.)
