I scored on red raspberries and blackberries a couple days ago. 75 cents for 6 oz containers. They were on the "let's get rid of" at the produce store. I usually win with these. We go through the containers berry by berry with 3 containers:Freezer; Himself; Compost
This time, the Himself containers won - but he cannot eat that many berries. The few that were good enough to freeze were added to the Himself. So I made red raspberry syrup - put it in the ice cube tray to freeze and then into freezer bags. Had fewer blackberries but the same scenario but made blackberry sauce with I have been enjoying over vanilla ice cream. Even though none hit the freezer this time, I still won.

I've got a bunch of not so pretty berries going into a crisp tonight.

We have a bunch of blackberries and raspberry bushes here which we usually use in the fruit bowls and yogurt. But this year they were on the bitter side. So we freeze them and put them in muffins or smoothie and are fine. Sometime guests get them first…

I've been picking our wild blueberries at the side of the house whenever I have a chance. Been using fresh for breakfasts and freezing bags too. Plus, I have an admirer (older gentleman friend) that I've been giving my extra baking to that has been picking and giving them to me to freeze and get ready for jam. I think I still have a few weeks left of picking on me!

I have raspberries on the allotment and had a great crop this year. Once I'd made enough jam I put pancakes sandwiched with fresh raspberries served with maple syrup on the breakfast menu, they went down a treat.
The sharpness of the raspberries go great with maple and pancakes.

Try putting the raspberries in the batter, as you would blueberries. A little almond flavor in the batter with toasted slivered almonds on the top as garnish and maple syrup on the side...heavenly!
