Are your beds comfortable?

I'm on a 10 minute call today. I know she's already been online and has seen all the answers that she's asking me over the phone. Then she asks," are your beds comfortable?" I can't believe anyone asks this silly question. So, I said NO, they're as hard as a rock, in fact there aren't any mattresses that it's only a piece of plywood with sheets. At least she laughed at my answer, but I was definitely being sarcastic with her. She ended up booking since there was only one room left for the weekend she wanted. This of course came with having to repeat the cancellation policy 3 separate times with her. I wouldn't doubt if she cancels. So I have until July 10th to cancel, will that be in my confirmation? UGH...
Of course our beds are comfortable and even if they weren't would I tell someone inquiring about staying!!! What do you say when someone asks this question?? This woman screams PITA! Oh let the fun begin...

I had a guy call during breakfast, at the end of so I answered. He told me he made a booking online and didn't get the $10 book online discount. I asked what code, he said AARP. I said, What code does it say to put in? He said BOOKONLINE.
So, try to explain to someone as daft as that what they did wrong? Same with your lady, are your beds comfortable? Today our guests said something that really made me mad. They were complimenting me, like "We're glad you stopped beating your wife" type compliment I guess. Saying they "just booked anything they could find" - and good it worked out nice, but from whatever geez lousise

We charge a 10% service fee of the deposit amount if someone cancels outside the 14 days. If they cancel within the 14 days they lose their deposit. I also had to tell her that 3 times.
It used to surprise me what came out of peoples mouths, after doing this job for 10 years, I guess I'm getting used to it, but I still have to roll my eyes at their stupidity.

For me the bookonline is to prevent having to waste 30 minutes talking to someone, which I did with this guy, like your gal. This is why I brought it up. He then went on to one thing to the next. Telling me he is disappointed at the turn out for shows here in town, I said what show? He said Indigo Girls, I said they sold out. Whatever. arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I wanted to check the dates for her but she said the rooms were open.
What then is the page you're on but a place to book online?
Offered to do it for her. No, she would do it herself just wanted to know if she could book online.

My lady with the horse and the Father has not called back nor has she shown up. DH had a call from someone this evening but said we were booked because of her and the fact we are babysitting my D-i-l's "4-footed babies". No surprise to me she did not call. I have the ONLY rooms in the area I think - but not tonight. I am tired.

For us- they are mostly the exact same bed bought at the same time. As long as the compliments keep rolling in, no testing required- although- we think about testing them-

While I agree that it is rather ridiculous for a guest to ask such questions (especially if they do so with attitude -- I am not going to grovel in front of a prospective guest, begging them to stay with us), I do think these are questions that we should be asking of ourselves (when/if ever we have a quiet moment to think!) We need to know well what our "Unique Selling Proposition" is and have self-confidence that we are offering great value.
