Looking for some local color for a short story I'm writing. If you been to Marseille, what's the name of any street that runs along the waterfront from which you could pitch something into the sea? Thanks.
It's hard to tell from maps if you could get close enough to toss something in that wouldn't land on the beach.

They have beach cafes right in the sand. You park in the water side parking lots of the oceanside drag and walk down

I have been, but it's been several years! I am no help. Sorry.

Google Street View is wonderful for this. Real photos.
For instance, this street address: 50 Corniche du Président John Fitzgerald Kennedy...
...gives THIS view right on the edge of the water.
Also you can switch to satellite view of the same spot and see for sure that there's a place on that street to easily pitch something into the water.

This is the kind of thorough investigation that makes you such a valuable asset on our forum. The arrow was above and beyond the call of duty.

That is the exact street I picked last night. Just thought I'd ask here, too. Someone might have a little detail to add that makes the story come to life.

Joey Bloggs has another phrase for it: obsessive compulsive disorder!

I've been. At 2 Quai du Port is a bar called La Samaritaine which is actually seen in the movie the French Connection. I can't remember if you see Popeye Doyle sit there, but I think so. Along the rest of Quai du Port are a number of lovely French restaurants that serve the most famous of Marseilles dishes... bouillabaisse. There is a Quik burger just at the corner of the main street (La Canabriere) and Quai des Belges. The tourist board is on La Canabriere.
And in case you didn't know, it's actually considered a rough town, where people don't walk around at night.

The Naples of France?
Thanks for the in depth walk along the quai. No one in the story is in town after nightfall. But heck of an idea to get rid of the character.

Not sure if you've thought of this, but it looks like there could possibly be a high tide time where the water would be closer to the wall in this picture, flooding over those rocks.
