    handy on line service

They are good, probably the biggest company doing this kind of stuff. They have numerous spin-off services as well, some are targeted at other regional markets (with other fees).

Google's Mobile-Friendly Update: Did it Affect You?

Surprisingly this is the result for most of the websites I monitor :) Way to overhype something.

Google's Mobile-Friendly Update: Did it Affect You?

Hi guys, So there has been some hype and panic around Google's mobile-friendly update (21/04/2015), and now that a week has passed since these algo changes have started rolling out, let's count our chickens. Have you noticed (in Google Analytics) an increase in mobile traffic? And while on the...

Index of blog posts amongst main site

Displaying the first N words is nothing damaging, unless you display the first 100 words and your blog posts have 110 words. If you display the first 20 words out of 300, Google is pretty smart not to penalize you for archive pages. Well, WordPress automatically creates post archive pages for...

Index of blog posts amongst main site

I don't see any problems with having your blog indexed, as long as you don't get a duplicate content penalty. So simply make sure that you disable indexing for your author/tag pages, as they will contain the same thing as your category archive pages.

    Two website thoughts

And if you don't mind I will add a third website thought: run your website images through an optimizer tool, for example TinyPNG (dot) com. It reduces the size of your JPG and PNG images by about 55-70% without any loss of quality. Considering that many hotel websites have up to 3 megabytes of...

    Two website thoughts

Nope. The content that appears on mouse over is inside the title attribute, not inside the alt. And as Breakfast Diva mentioned earlier, the alt text is supposed to describe the content of the image, not what it represents.

Need your input in this hotel/b&b website

I think that one-page templates are more suitable for hostels, not for hotels and surely not for B&Bs. B&B websites have feelings, the owners put a lot of thought into their websites, which they develop and tweak for years and years. A one-page template is good for businesses that themselves...

So it is just filler content written in under an hour before the deadline (aka useless content) :)

How to run your own bed and breakfast business

Is it just me or does this "article" lack the "how to" part? I don't see much usable info besides: "there are regulations and you should pay attention to your financials".

    Dormant FB accounts

Photos work differently. I'm talking about statuses / shared posts. For photos we get a better reach as well, but still much too low.

TA - how it is affecting travel

I've been to some hotels in the past years and I noticed that some of the bigger ones use this tactic: when you connect to their Wi-Fi you need to "activate" your account, by simply opening the browser window using that connection. There you insert your room number and your device will be...

    Dormant FB accounts

8214 page likes, a post from one week ago: 151 people reached Basically the FB algo works like this: you share an update and they show it to ~1% of people, but at least to 15-20. If none of them click/comment on your status, most likely FB won't show it to anyone else. But if you do get a like...
