I will have three couples over the weekend. One couple for two days, so Saturday and Sunday breakfast.
I have a heart shaped cookie cutter that does wonderful things to watermelon.
I also have made muffins with heart shaped strawberries on the tops.
Any other breakfast ideas? Chocolate covered strawberries? Heart shaped pancakes? Strawberry pancakes?

Not up to me to make it special...that's up to them :) Actually, we did things like Valentine decor, everyone usually got a special cake for two and a valentine card. That's about it.

We do a box of gourmet chocolate truffles, a split of champagne, and a rose to take home. We have a 2 night minimum stay that weekend,

I don't go crazy over breakfast, but the evening of Valentine's I pull out the stops and set up a chocolate fountain with all sorts of yummy things to dip in it. On the table in their room (for check-in), I've placed some little decorated items with a card and this year I'll have heart shaped fudge I've made.
When Valentine's Day falls on President's Day weekend, we're able to have a 3 night minimum. If it's midweek, no minimum.

I do not have anything booked for the weekend but I have a 25th anniversary tonight and an Elopement tomorrow. I have a chocolate (red foil wrapped) rose on the bed and last night baked a heart-shaped cake with bride & groom topper which is upstairs with delicate plates, wedding-type knife & server, forks and napkins on the dresser where bananas & apples in a basket would normally be.
Since the medical zoo we have been having here is on hold until after a stress test Friday, I will have time to "play" with the fruit in the morning. Thinking of doing a butterfly with red raspberries heart center with mango, kiwi, and papaya slices around it and pecan antennae. Will probably do the chives & cheese egg bake because the bread is a wow thing. IF I can get it to turn out, may try to do rosebud bacon.
The Elopement groom had already done a Valentine's reservation somewhere and since all he wanted was the log house (even though I warned him it would be colder than a witch's ___ - I do not pull punches), minister, and video it worked for me to do it at a cherry-pick price. He is a Marine and the zoo was looming at the time. When I baked the cake for today, I also made a VERY small heart cake that is iced and waiting for the topper (the name has me cautious re which topper I use - I have both shades) to go on. I will wrap it in foil for them to take it with.

I did heart shaped waffles or something that included strawberries cut to look like hearts for breakfast. Used my red china and red chargers, etc. for the occasion. Have some heart shaped votive candle holders for the table or room service trays.
Valentine's Day cards in all the rooms and Valentine's themed turn down chocolates. Also, special afternoon treats - red velvet cupcakes or brownies cut in heart shapes. All kinds of things, not not over the top.
I enjoyed special holidays and occasions and tried to make them super special for the guests!

We are practicing on these guests. New recipes. One is chocolate mousse. You could put that on the buffet with some raspberries. Great shaped puff pastry. Recipe from Food network.
We have kids here, too, so not too crazy with the offbeat stuff.
Probably omelets on Sunday.
Dress up the tables a little bit, too, that goes a long way.
IF I can get to Joann's tomorrow...

Heart shaped cookies for snacks but I like the idea of heart shaped brownies!

Got some table decor yesterday. Some cute heart candy for the rooms. Went back for more today as we got more rooms and they were all gone!

I am just totally blown away. I have a full house on Saturday night. Valentine's has never been so popular here. Must be a perfect combination of no snow, a weekend, and the fact that I have a commitment that requires me to leave the B&B at 6pm tomorrow night. Peeps promise to be here before 6, but we all know how that turns out

Sooo, happened to find a bunch of 3 long stem red roses at Wally's for 5 bucks on Monday that have survived well and will go upstairs in bud vases, and will make chocolate chip pancakes Sunday. I found an inexpensive cake decorating kit that I can load with cool whip to decorate the pancakes. It was a hit last weekend when I tried it out on some of my frequent fliers.

We did just get another rez for tomorrow. Surprised. They must be kids. Looking for that romantic, snowed in weekend.
Some guests are looking forward to calling work on Monday and saying, "sorry, l'm snowed in!"

Full here, too. Special: romantic dinner, champagne, fireworks, late breakfast . And roses, chocolate, and DW's Florentines now made GF.

For many, Monday is already a day off for President's Day.
