As a mom and pop motel we may draw from different guests, but we have stickers on the door from our several local chambers, our area tourism organization and TA. Having good reviews from guests on TA has been a big help drawing guests who might not otherwise consider an older roadside motel.

I also have the CC stickers - you know the ones 'We PROUDLY take ...." - that I got when we first opened.
I stuffed those in that big dark hole...

We've got them on the window. Some of them are old school and are never coming off. The shrubs have since grown up and you can't really see them from the outside anymore.

Yes, we post our awards on the door, Fo dor's Editor Pick, TA Excellence etc, and local chamber stickers. Since we are a small mom and pop B+B competing with the larger inns and hotels we feel that the stickers help to immediately validate our standing and our right to claim title to some of the best accommodations in the town.
First impressions are powerful so we try to grab some PR influence from the get go.

I'm sorry, unless it comes with a cheque, it's not getting stuck on my door. I don't have stickers for MC & Visa either. TA doesn't pay me to advertise for them, they charge me. As such, I want to be paid as well.

We don't have a business listing on TA. I look at their posted reviews as free advertising for us. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em...but on my terms. I won't give them a dime.

I started to fill out the form to get a new sticker, but hesitated. By the time people get to my door they've already found me. If they read TA it's already been done. If not, they found me otherwise, so what I may be doing is actually advertising TA instead of the other way around. I do have some schickers, but not the ones that are reverse advert.
Not in a touristy place, no true competition from B&B's, so different perspective and different answer

Not here. I am not about to promote them. I also filed the cc signs they (the cc company) so thoughtfully provided me with into the round file. They do not rent space here - and space in this house is a premium.

I don't. They advertise my competition.

I'm glad to display the stickers, to perhaps serve as a reminder to guests that other people have submitted reviews, and maybe they will too.

I stick them in the folder I am supposed to have on display with my County license, health inspection report, food handler's card. In 5 years, nobody has looked at it except the inspector. Maybe the 5* TA impresses him.
