Saw this and thought it was cute. It says to share it around, so I am. It's from the Newport Wave.

Here's their website since the video somehow won't play.

That's just the photo you've linked to instead of the video, which is why it didn't play.

The waving lobster is cute.
Camden has it painted right on the streets at the crosswalks. It's something witty, but I can't remember exactly what it says.
But the indication is you stop, make eye contact with the driver, smile, then cross.
Good luck with that here. I've been stuck on the yellow line, in the crosswalk, with cars whizzing by.

BTW, I did notice not a single person was on a phone while crossing the street. What planet was this filmed on? ;-)

That would earn you a nice fat ticket in Newport if you past someone in the crosswalk. The problem is the pedestrians just walk out without looking, hence the wave thing.

Well, I have counted eight people that I saw walking around with their phone since you posted this. One was a white haired grandpa walking on the sidewalk, a child following her mom through the store, two young ladies at a bus stop, a mom coming out of a store who missed that her son knocked a bag out of the cart since she was too busy with the phone, a young man being eyeballed by his two friends who were glaring at him as he slowly wandered five feet behind them, and two passengers in cars at stop signs….

I can't say anything about reading while walking. I read while walking to school in NYC when I was a kid. (Of course, horse and buggies moved more slowly...)

Did you dad have one of those cars with the big stone wheels at the front and back and where you put the feet through to start it?

I remember picking my book up to read at red lights.
But I did put it down when I drove.
