Email with attachment. I don't open attachments. Email states guest is arriving on such and such date, attached are his cc details and info, will arrive at 4 PM. Checking out 5 days later.
But, if you can find the email addy, you can find the online booking. Yeesh.

I was just about to start a new thread on this new scam! I got the same one today. Says the attachment has a copy of his cc & id.

I got the same one. I didn't open the attachment but did reply telling them to book online from our reservation system we don't honor email reservations.
Should have come on here first! Love this forum.

Yeah..you didn't click on the attachment but you replied!! NEVER REPLY. It gets you NOTHING! except maybe that they know your email for sure and they can sell it to a million other scammers. :-(

My last THREE VRBO inquiries, after exchanging a couple of e-mails, have ended up giving their address as being in Ukraine :-(

I just deleted the same e-mail from Jeff rey Ka p. 5 nights, me and my girlfriend, arriving 18 October with an attachment supposedly with credit card and passport info.

Scam it is then. Thank you! Unless he's going to be in two places at once...
.
Make that 3. I got it also. He is GOOD if he can cover these distances on the same night - or is really huge if he needs a bed in such diverse areas for the same night.

I posted the scam warning on our association's private group page. At least 5 of them got the same e-mail today.
How in the heck to they get so many of us?!?

Probably web bots that search the web for sites with "bed and breakfast" and list an e-mail address.
A few years ago I posted here that you should never list your e-mail address on your web page as text that can be copied and pasted, because it can lead to spam. Put it as an image of the text, or use a webform that sends it to your e-mail in a hidden way. Everybody argued and said I was wrong, but I still stand by it!

Received the same email. 5 days, arriving Oct.18 but if you read on they depart April ?
Then state the CC is attached.
Laughed that one off right away. I am glad the mistakes are so transparent, makes my day much easier.
