New research on how travelers use online hotel reviews
JB's disclaimer: as always, when I share something I am not promoting, condoning or even agreeing with the facts and figures or viewpoint in the article or link. I am just sharing it for discussion and feedback, one item in this article may be of use to someone here. It is an FYI only.

I've never even considered looking at Expedia for reviews. Not once. It never occurred to me they would have reviews. Duh. What a bozo.

Mort, I saw that and went to it as well. I realized I actually had been there looking at them recently and didn't even realize where I was! and to be honest, I really did read THOSE reviews moreso than TA on the property I was looking at. I am a bozo too.

They are also on Priceline.... where you aren't even offering free breakfast :)

That's strange that so few people trust b.c reviews over ta, when anyone can post on ta but only people that actually booked can post on b.c
On our in-room questionnaire 49% of respondents said that online reviews was one of the most important factors when they chose us.

Interesting. Thinking this is a US survey and that is why Booking dot com ranks lower. It still is not as known as the others.

Most interesting is that there are still 43% that never check reviews and another 10% that rarely check.

- Price wins out over good reviews -
