Is It Just Me?

One of the weird things that sometimes happens are cancellations. Now, I don't take deposits and I don't charge a cancellation fee, as long as I have 8 days notice. So, last week I got 3 reservations via 3rd party websites for the end of the month.... and this week, 2 of the 3 were cancelled. And I'm not upset at all. Doesn't bother me. I'm glad they cancelled so far out so that someone else can book.
Maybe it's that time of year?
I also got a cancellation yesterday that asked me how long to get the refund? Refund?!?!

That's one reason we take them. The other is it seems to help stop the folks who book multiple places just to hold rooms while they ask where everyone wants to stay.

I think it's the season. A cancellation just means more relax time. In summer, it means missing out on money, but these days, it is almost good news.

And us too. We just got a 2 night cancellation for this weekend yesterday. They were repeats. Did not enforce our usual out of range rules either. Although am usually a stickler.

Well I sure wish the one that called me would go ahead an cancel! OTA reservation that takes full payment up front.
The guest called me because he thought he had booked on my site. Wanted to know if he would get a full refund.
I told him he had to contact the OTA he booked through. While my side shows it to be Ex ped ia it could be one of their affiliates and they could charge a cancel fee.
He called on Sunday am - no cancellation as of yet.

Love Poirot we have the entire series on dvd. Same for Sherlock Holmes
