Many, many years ago I went to Williamsburg and I remember them telling us that the inn was for male travelers only... women didn't travel or they stayed with friends.The men would be expected to share a bed with at least one other stranger, maybe two or three.The sheets were changed once a month whether they needed it or not.=)Kk.
