Hello everybody. My name is Alessia and I live in Italy. In few months, I will open a residence in Como city, on the famous Como Lake. Here is full of hotels/B&B/residences, therefore it is not easy to find the right name for the place.
Let me give you some information. I bought part of a building in the town centre, near the lake but without lake view. It is in one of the prettiest squares of Como. I will make 6 small apartments, each one with its own bathroom and kitchenette. I want to provide high quality offer and this is the main difference from many inns in Como. The level currently offered in Como in either basic-simle-spartan or extremely luxurious (I can't compete with the latter). I want to create a warm and welcoming place, charming rooms, natural colors and materials. I will also provide additional services, like guided walks to discover the city, the lake, the surroundings, I'm very oriented on food and natural living. I would not want to put TV in the rooms (i'm not sure if this will be a good idea or not). I will also accept small pets, that is quite rare here.
Anyway, I would really appreciate your support to find the right name... the city is full of 'Como Hotel' or 'nameofhtestreet hotel', or 'b&b the view' or 'blue lake residence' and so on. I need to find something different, charming, that recalls natural luxury, relaxing, but still easy to remember and that has some meaning I guess, so that this can come out in the researches. As you will have understood, I'm very new in this field.
Thank you in advance for brainstorming together.
Alessia

Welcome! When do you foresee opening? Do you get back up from the other inns and hotels in the area?

Hello - I would think about where your visitors will come from ie if its the UK keep it simple and easy to spell as full on Italian Names are a bit tricky for us to spell if doing an internet search - however if its Italian natives its different again.

Let me start by congratulating you with the purchase in such a wonderful (and expensive) location.
Second: whatever the name is, please make sure that you search for other properties with the same name: in Google and on Booking. You don't want to have a neighbor with the same (or a very similar) name.
Third: make sure that your name is available in its spelling as a dotCOM and dotIT domains, then check for the appropriate Facebook/Twitter page names.
And finally: I think the name of a hotel/B&B should have a story behind it. Be it a character/location from your favourite book, a line from a song or an ingredient in your grandma's cookies recipe.
You can also try combining it with the location's name, like "Swan House on Como", etc. Having it as part of your name/domain will help you a lot in the long run. Having a generic name like "XYZ Apartments" is terrible (in my opinion).

having some kind of story is good - we bought an ongoing concern with an already established name - no clue where it came from - people ask and I have no idea.
Also big hotel just up the street has a very similar name only 1 letter different (they changed their name 8 years ago we have been the same name since pre 1975 so we were here first) causes chaos with taxi drivers dropping off my guests there and there guests at mine - also my first name is the same as their hotel name - nightmare!
Also means I have to shout at the taxi companies regularly and any taxies booked have to be told every time
