Entry Level of bed and breakfast Innkeeping

I have worked in the storage industry for 14 years and now that I am in a different time of my life, I want to switch gears and go into the BB business - since this has always been my heart felt desire to either work in one, or own or run one I would like to try it out before I own a B&B. If anyone has any suggestions for me, I am open to listen.
I would like to work in the Inn-keeping business and give time out for holidays for the BB owner so that burn out doesn't set in. If any one is interested let me know, I can check people in and take payments and adhere to the policy and procedures. Let me know so I can start to help out anywhere I am wanted. At your service. I will travel if the price is right. I can do a week at a time or 2 weeks at a time. Just remember don't get buried out, hire me first before closing a dream.

I converted this to a forum thread. In general, posting for an innsitting business could have been done as a resource, but since this is more of a "never done this before but want to get my feet wet" kind of thing, it is best as a forum post.

Your goal is worthy. It seems that you do not have (much) experience, and although innkeeping is not rocket science*, there is a huge amount of detail that must be handled seamlessly when you take over as an inn sitter. B&B is personal and inn owners range from crazy compulsively protective to fiercely obsessively protective.
The key is to find several B&B local to you -- perhaps places you have stayed -- and express your interest. Try it out for a day or two, develop a bit of a history, find a mentor.

Yeah, sort of my point. As with baby sitting, don't be a stranger on a bus: have personal references, experience. Of course you need to be competent -- but people need to be able to know and trust you before you can look after their "baby".
