aero bed opinions?

hi
a guestroom is in need of a queen size bed asap for occasional guests. while we argue about debate the furnishing upgrades, i've been looking at aero beds. specifically a premier air bed in queen - either with built in air pump or without.
has anyone slept on one for a couple nights? or had guests use one?
i realize innkeepers offer real beds that are awesome and comfortable, but this would be for the occasional visitor. i slept on one for months and - except for once in a while adding a bit of air - it was fine for me. this would need to hold two people.

I have a motel-style rollaway for the largest bedroom in the house. There are a couple of weekends a year (like college graduation) where I've allowed a third person in another room and have used a twin size aerobed. The few times adults have used it, there were no complaints (and I asked) ... of course they were sort of desperate, but said it was comfortable. Longest stretch was for 3 nights. Don't know what experiences two sleepers would have on a bigger one.
I have seen catalog photos of the air beds with frame. Looks like quite a bit more expensive, which would cut into your budget for whenever you find a more permanent solution. At my age and build, I wouldn't want to get out of one on the floor.
Interestingly, this weekend we have a triathlon and every room in this part of the state is full of triathletes. After I had a cancellation (one of my "regulars" got mobilized to track down an Ebola outbreak in Africa) I rented his room to two guys. It's the smallest room. I offered the aerobed, and he made a point of asking for the rollaway. It will be interesting to see if the rollaway even fits in there after I remove the bedside tables. So, I think I can report what he thinks of sleeping on an aerobed next week if you want to know

We slept on ours for a week when we moved in here. If this is for family and not paying guests then sure.
Would not add this to a room for paying guests.
I, rather embarrassingly, flattened an air bed when I Sat on it.

Have you looked at the daybeds from the company that sells toothpicks as furniture? I have to tell you the daybed that comes out into a short king is pretty nifty and hides as a single and you have two drawers for storage underneath.

I wouldn't use one in an inn. I have slept on one and it was ok for a night or two at my in-laws but I was begging my husband to "find us a hotel" after that :-(

yes, this would be for friends/family wanting to visit a spectacular location /private home. not paying guests. in the room is a twin. unacceptable for couples.

Same here, youth seem OK with it and it is clear that we are only using it for those special occasions when we have lots of extra people.

Sunday, the dreaded cot will go up again. I have 2 rooms coming in that now have a 3rd kid with them - going to horse competition). They will return next week. So the cot goes up ($30) per night) and will move to the storage room for the few days between uses.
